Children from ages 2-14 can enjoy a range of exciting, inspirational  and FREE workshops inspired by the humble bumble bee and the insect world.

Plus, help make Bridget's Bunting and celebrate 25 years of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen's residence in Bovey Tracey.  Not forgetting Punch and Judy and the irrepressible Jonty Depp (Sat & Sun only).  Plus facepainting, soft play and sandpit.

A foot stomping, skirt twirling Ceildh at The Dolpin Hotel, Bovey Tracey.  Help raise funds for The Children's Craft Tent plus Handmade Raffle prizes galore. Great music, dancing and hospitality.

Ceramics by Internationally acclaimed potter Lisa Hammond, The West Country Potters Association and RAMP. Furniture by Chris Eckersley, glass blowing with Liquid Glass Centre, Hot Metal Forging by Matt Dingle, pole lathe turning and wood carving with Sean Hellman, The Devon Weavers Workshop and The Embroiderers Guild,  stone carving with Maria Moorhouse and Sculptworks, plus much more.

Bovey Tracey is  2 miles off the A38 Exeter to Plymouth Expressway. Exit A38 at Drumbridges roundabout and follow signs to Bovey Tracey Town Centre & The Contemporary Craft Fair. Free parking on Contemporary Craft Fair site, additional public car parks are signposted. Nearest train station is Newton Abbot. Buses from Exeter and Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey. All workshops are FREE* although there is a £6 materials fee for each workshop which is payable at time of booking. Workshop materials fee does not include entry into the show. FREE workshops are provided by Devon Adult & Community Learning as part of Adult Learners week.

NEW: The Great Windsor Chair Race - With leading contemporary  product and furniture designer makers Chris Eckersley, William Warren & Carl Clerkin in association with Ercol. Who can make the most chairs over the weekend? It's a test of speed and skill as only the best will win!

 

NEW: The Bee Keepers Garden - inspired by The Co-Operative's Plan Bee, a garden designed to attract bees and insect life with willow hideaways by Judith Needham and Hilary Burns. Sponsored by Fermoys.

 

NEW: Fired Up - in partnership with Plymouth College of Art and The Crafts Council.  A display of ceramic work from the Fired Up initiative, which takes ceramics back into schools.  Funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

 

NEW: KNIT EXPO host a real-time hand-knitting art event  – learn, knit, beautify the tree.

 

Aim Higher - Showcasing art and design higher education opportunities in the South West.

 

West Country Potters Association & The Toy Makers Guild of Great Britain - selection of members selling and demonstrating their work.

 

Our education work is generously supported by British Ceramic Tile.


Materials and Making Avenue

Presenting a handpicked selection of craft organisations, regional museums, national magazines and companies selling artist's books and materials, beads, textile supplies plus much more.

Live Music

Enjoy Award winning jazz and folk music including the fabulous Louise Parker and her band on Saturday. The acclaimed Jackie Oates accompanied by Mike Cosgrave entertain on Friday. Bovey Tracey Primary School Choir will kicking off proceeding on Friday morning plus more to be announced. Enjoy great music whilst you eat and drink the wide variety of locally sourced food and ales on offer, from falafels and spicy curries to hog roast and cream teas.
